An acousto-optic modulator is a kind of acousto-optic product that modulates laser intensity and shifts its frequency by using acousto-optic interaction principle. The RF signal changes into an ultrasonic signal after passing through the piezoelectric transducer, thus changing the refractive index of the acousto-optic medium. After the beam passes through the acousto-optic medium, diffraction occurs, and its frequency and intensity will be changed.Acousto-optic modulators can control speed and modulate light intensity far beyond that of mechanical shutters. The wavelengths range from the ultraviolet to the mid-infrared. Use the recommended companion drivers for optimal performance and a wider range of application options.

N-type Acousto Optic Driver

Acousto-optic drivers are RF signal sources optimized for acousto-optic modulators and frequency shifters with driving power below 3W. The radio-frequency signal generated by it excites ultrasonic waves in the medium of the acousto-optic device. The modulation depth, deflection Angle, or tuning frequency of the incident beam is directly controlled by the characteristics of the applied RF signal, including its frequency and amplitude. The driver features efficient thermal management that ensures enhanced temperature stability when paired with compatible acousto-optic devices.
